Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage standout 4-star corner Tarvarus McFadden committed to Florida State this morning over Georgia and LSU. McFadden had over 30 offers from teams all over the country including Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Louisville, Clemson, and Auburn.
McFadden is the No. 5 corner and No. 40 overall in the 2014 Scout 300. He has elite size at 6-foot-2, 198-pounds and is extremely quick. In eight games this season McFadden has two interceptions and six pass breakups as teams are staying away from his side of the field.
A couple of Florida State commitments took to Twitter to welcome McFadden into the fold.
Cornerback is a major need for the Seminoles going into the next year with the chance that Ronald Darby and P.J. Williams leave for the NFL. Florida State will have to continue to fight for McFadden as Jeremy Pruitt and the University of Georgia aren’t going to quit trying to bring him in.
This is Florida State's second 4-star commitment this week. The Seminoles also picked up running back Jacques Patrick.
