In Right Now: Geoff

1

FSU

Best team in country

2

Miss State

Only other major unbeaten, but trending downward.

3

Auburn

Continue to catch an unbelievable number of breaks. Iron Bowl is huge.

4

Alabama

Can't keep Alabama out with reasonable road loss. A lot left to prove starting this week with a feisty LSU team.

Projected Playoff: Geoff

1

Florida State (13-0)

Will be clear cut favorite to repeat

2

Alabama (12-1)

Will win out from here to earn spot

3

Miss State (11-1)

Lone loss to Alabama gives Bulldogs great resume

4

TCU (11-1)

If they can win this week......book it.

In Right Now: Wayne

Rationale

1

FSU

Florida State is undefeated and just wont die. Seem to be hitting their stride offensively, but injuries on defense are hurting the Noles right now.

2

Miss State

Mississippi State is still undefeated, but has looked extremely vulnerable

3

Alabama

Alabama has looked extremely strong in recent weeks. They have the toughest part of their schedule coming up however.

4

Oregon

Oregon finally got past Stanford and is dominating since losing to Arizona.

Projected Playoff: Wayne

Rationale

1

FSU (13-0)

Florida State will stay undefeated. There are still challenges on the schedule, but FSU should be able to handle them.

2

Alabama (12-1)

Alabama: I think they beat Mississippi State, Auburn, and whoever wins the SEC East.

3

Oregon (12-1)

Oregon is dominating right now and i see that continuing at this point.

4

Michigan State (12-1)

Michigan State beats Ohio State and then takes down Nebraska again in the B1G Championship game puts them in over a 2-loss SEC team, 2-loss TCU, and 1-loss Notre Dame.

Projected Playoff: Jason

Rationale

1

Florida State (12-1)

Tough closing schedule and lots of injuries will make winning out difficult. Should still have no difficulty making the playoff with quality wins over Notre Dame, Clemson, and @Louisville

2

Oregon (12-1)

This week @Utah is a dangerous game for the Ducks, but if they get through that, I think they get in.

3

TCU (11-1)

If they get by Kansas State this weekend, their closing schedule (@Kansas, @Texas, Iowa State) is more than manageable, and they won't have to deal with a conference title game

4

Miss State (11-1)

I have the Bulldogs losing to Alabama but beating Ole Miss (now that Treadwell is out) and winning the SEC. I have Alabama losing one of @LSU, MSU, Auburn, but if they win out, the Tide are likely the #1 seed. I have Auburn losing to Georgia, knocking out the Tigers. The Big Ten champ is my first team out.

Rank

Power Ranking: Geoff

Rationale

1

Florida State

Winston is the best QB in the country and FSU has now won 24 in a row. Look for them to make it 25 next week.

2

Miss State

Arkansas can't catch a break and Mississippi State is looking vulnerable. Opposite way of looking at it is that it is their time.

3

Alabama

Will have to beat an improving LSU squad in the first of 3 tough remaining games.

4

Auburn

Tigers find ways to win games. The Georgia game will set the table for the Iron Bowl.

5

TCU

Survived in Morgantown. With KU, Iowa State, and Texas remaining (soft soft schedule), TCU might be able to punch ticket to playoffs with win over Kansas State this week

6

Kansas State

Pounded a fading Oklahoma State team. Road tests with Baylor and WVU remain, so this week's tilt with TCU is just the beginning of proving themselves.

7

Michigan State

Elimination game coming up with Ohio State

8

Oregon

Should enter the PAC 12 Title game with a chance to make playoffs

9

Notre Dame

Not in a terrible position to make the playoffs, but are they actually a playoff caliber team?

10

Duke

If they can win @Syracuse this week......home games with VT (not good), UNC (bad), and WF (the worst) remain

Rank

Power Ranking: Wayne

Rationale

1

FSU

42 points and an 11 point victory over the No.1 defense in the country. Oh and 24 straight.

2

Miss State

In an absolute dogfight with a team that hasn't won a conference game since before FSU started their 24 game winning streak.

3

Alabama

BYE. Play LSU this weekend.

4

Oregon

Finally got over the hump of beating Stanford. Let's see if they can forget about that quickly as they head to Utah this weekend.

5

Auburn

They were a broken leg/dislocated ankle away from losing, but they won. That's all that matters.

6

TCU

Found a way to win in Morgantown. It was ugly, but a win is a win.

7

Notre Dame

Looked rough against Navy. May have been looking ahead to ASU.

8

Michigan State

BYE. Host Ohio State this weekend in a matchup that will decide the B1G East.

9

Kansas State

Destroyed Oklahoma State. Head to TCU for what is essentially a winner take all Big 12 Championship game.

10

Nebraska

Continues to win. Could be undefeated if a last minute comeback attempt against Michigan State hadn't fell short.

Rank

Power Ranking: Jason

Rationale

1

FSU

24 in a row and I'll bet on a team with Winston at QB over just about anyone without him. Tough slate down the stretch as Miami and Florida both have the talent to give FSU trouble, and even UVA and BC shouldn't be overlooked, especially with how banged up the Seminoles are.

2

Alabama

Did Texas A&M count as a Top 10 win for Bama, too? No? Then, what is happening in Tuscaloosa? Tide have lost last three vs. ranked opponents. They must really miss Jeremy Pruitt. Nevertheless, this is the one team FSU fans should be rooting against.

3

Miss State

As big and physical up front as anyone in the country, but their secondary is weak and I'm not sold on their ability to throw the ball against a quality defense

4

Auburn

Not as good up front as in 2013 on either side of the ball but still tough to stop with Marshall at QB and continue to win close. Tough sledding remaining. Think they lose to Georgia, Iron Bowl will be interesting.

5

TCU

As fast on the perimeter as anyone in the country. Defense is always solid in Fort Worth. Tough escape in Morgantown this week.

6

Oregon

Look much better up front with Jake Fisher back from injury. Still not an elite team but a very good one

7

Notre Dame

I've said it since the preseason: I think this team is better than the 2012 team that played for the title.

8

Kansas State

Yes, they lost to Auburn, but they outplayed them and I'd pick them over the Tigers if they played again.

9

Ole Miss

Bad beat against Auburn in a game they should have won. Not the same team without Treadwell, who is the best NFL prospect at his position in the country

10

Michigan State

FSU fans should hope to see this team in the playoff.
