Florida State linebacker Markuss Eligwe has been kicked off the team for a violation of team rules. The redshirt sophomore has missed most of the 2014 season with a Lisfranc foot injury, but was regarded as one of the top linebackers on the team during spring practice. Eligwe, Reggie Northrup, and E.J. Levenberry were competing for the starting linebacker spot opposite Terrance Smith. He had 27 tackles and two sacks during the 2013 season.
Eligwe returned for the Wake Forest game after his lisfranc injury, but had several set backs, not practicing until this week after soreness in his leg. Florida State has had trouble keeping players healthy at the linebacker position this year, and this is just one more blow to an already beat up unit.
