FSU Assistant Coaches Talk Recruiting Class

Florida State signed another top class in 2015. Find out what the coaches thought of it below.

The Florida State assistant coaches don’t usually speak with the media, but Wednesday night the coaches introduced each recruit Florida State signed. Jimbo Fisher started the event off talking about how selfless the coaches are and how hard they work before letting the coaches talk about their position groups. Here is what each coach had to say about the new additions.

Randy Sanders

3-star QB De’Andre Johnson

He committed to us before I got here and never wavered. He lost just five football games in the highest level in Florida.

4-star QB Deondre Francois

Phenomenal ability to throw the football. I told coach Fisher "He can spin it."

Jay Graham

4-star RB Jacques Patrick

A big need for us to get a bigger back and he's just that. To be that big he has a smaller back skill set. He’s elusive, but still physical.

Lawrence Dawsey

5-star WR George Campbell

Great size and great speed. I call him a football player. He's a big play receiver. He's a legit 4.3 guy. He’s a playmaker.

4-star WR Da’Vante Phillips

He knows how to win. He's physical and tough. He's a competitor. He loves to play football.

4-star WR Auden Tate

Great size and athletic ability. That’s something we were missing this season since Kelvin left. He adjusts well to the ball and has great ball skills. Great football player.

3-star WR Nyquan Murray

He's a great athlete. He's a playmaker and he's a great football player.

Tim Brewster

3-star TE Jalen Wilkerson

This kid has the length and athleticism that I'm looking for and knows how to put his hand in the dirt.

Rick Trickett

4-star OT Abdul Bello

His whole high school wanted him to go to the other place, but we struck up a relationship and he came here.

4-star OC David Robbins

I really liked him at camp. He has big hands. Bigger than anyone we've signed in a while. Robbins has a head like a St. Bernard. It’s bigger than Odell's. That's a big head.

3-star OG Cole Minshew

This kid I've got in the back of my mind that he's going to help next year. He has some dog in him.

Brad Lawing

5-star DE Josh Sweat

He has tremendous upside and can get off the ball. He'll be ready for the fall and can make an immediate impact.

On the Pass Rush

We have to improve our pass rush. That's a point of emphasis going into next year.

Odell Haggins

4-star DT Darvin Taylor

He's big, strong, and can run. You see he's 328 and he can move. He can take the A gap and the B gap.

Bill Miller

4-star LB Sh’Mar Kirby-Lane

He's a speed backer that we need. He's the coverage linebacker that we need. He has great size potential.

4-star LB Lorenzo Phillips

He has great speed and a great motor. He's a physical guy and he can cover too. He comes off the edge really well.

Charles Kelly

On the secondary class

I like their football intelligence and the size and length of these guys. These guys don't mind competing.

5-star S Derwin James

He has one thing on his mind. Getting on the field next year. He's a big, physical guy that can cover. He has nothing but Seminole blood in him.

5-star CB Tavarus McFadden

It's hard to find a guy that's 6'3 that can play corner and do all those things. Great ball skills. He's very heavy handed and always knows where the ball is. I think he’s the best corner in the country.

4-star S Calvin Brewton

This guy can play everything. He's very heavy handed and a very smart football player.

4-star CB Marcus Lewis

Very good athlete. Can play corner, safety, star, or WR. He's physical in the run game and has great ball skills.

3-star S AJ Westbrook

He's very physical and very smart. He's going to be able to help us.
