3/21 Florida State Practice Report

Florida State returned to practice with a new first team center and a hand full of highly rated recruits in attendance.

Florida State was in shells for the early morning practice on Saturday. Mavin Saunders and Terrance Smith returned fully to practice. Derrick Mitchell and Kermit Whitfield were the only players who participated in the first practice not to do so today. In addition to Mitchell, Adam Torres, Josh Sweat, Da’Vante Phillips, Delvin Purifoy, and Reggie Northrup continue to be sidelined.

4-star defensive end and Florida State commit Janarius Robinson, 5-star cornerback Levonta Taylor, kicker Ricky Aguayo, 3-star defensive end Nick Coe, and 2017 defensive end Jordan Riley were all in attendance.

Florida State signee Marcus Lewis and Notre Dame center Matt Hegarty were also in attendance.

We had a change at first team center with Alec Eberle taking over the duties today. Derrick Kelly continues to work with the first team at right guard. The rest of the offensive line was the same with Mavety, Are, and Johnson.

With Mitchell not participating Derrick Nnadi was working with the first team along side Nile Lawrence-Stample. Jacob Pugh, Lorenzo Featherston, Demarcus Walker, Tyrell Lyons, Terrance Smith, Jalen Ramsey, Marquez White, Tyler Hunter, and Nate Andrews were also with the first team. Trey Marshall came in and Featherston went out when Florida State switched to a five defensive back set.

Jacob Pugh spent some of the time with his hand in the dirt rather than standing up.

Fred Jones and DeMarcus Christmas were working as the second team defensive line. Mathew Thomas, Ryan Green, Malique Jackson, Rick Leonard, Keelin Smith, and Lamarcus Brutus were also working with the second team.

On the offensive side of the ball Ja’Von Harrison, George Campbell, Mario Pender, John Franklin III, and Jeremy Kerr were working with the second team.

During swarming drills Keith Bryant was being praised for his effort and was rotating in with the second team. Arthur Williams was also being praised for his effort.

Jimbo Fisher will be speaking after practice and we will have a photo gallery up soon
