Florida State Practice Report: 4/4

Florida State was without 21 scholarship players today, but a handful of high caliber recruits attended.

Florida State returned to practice in full pads on Saturday morning. With just one week left in Spring practice the Seminoles are fairly banged up. Florida State was without all three scholarship tight ends today. Mavin Saunders has been out, but Ryan Izzo and Jeremy Kerr had been practicing. Kermit Whitfield was not dressed out as well.

Derrick Kelly, Ethan Frith, and Chad Mavety continue to be out on the offensive line. Mavety was not in the boot today.

Jacob Pugh and Lorenzo Featherston were not dressed out. Tyler Hunter was not in attendance. Terrance Smith continues to be out with a toe injury. Calvin Brewton returned to practice.

Chris Casher, Derrick Mitchell, Colin Blake, Josh Sweat, Da’Vante Phillips, Ryan Hoefeld, Reggie Northrup, Delvin Purifoy, Freddie Stevenson, and Mathew Thomas are all out for the spring.

Former defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews was there.

With Tyler Hunter out Ryan Green and Marquez White were working as the first team corners. Jalen Ramsey was in the star, and Lamarcus Brutus was in Hunters spot. Derwin James came in as the sixth defensive back in the Dime package.

Rick Leonard and Demarcus Walker were the first team defensive ends with Pugh and Featherston out. Derrick Nnadi and Nile Lawrence-Stample continue to be the first team defensive tackles.

Without the tight ends the offense was working on two back sets with three wide receivers. At one point Pender and Cook split out wide and showed a five wide set with Bobo Wilson, Ermon Lane, and Travis Rudolph.
