Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek 2016 4-star linebacker Josh Brown committed to Florida State back in September of 2014. Since then he’s taken visits to a number of schools and many have wondered whether or not he would stick with his commitment to the Seminoles.
Brown took a multi-day trip to Tallahassee last week to take in a practice and then the Florida State spring game. He came away extremely impressed with the visit and said that his commitment to Florida State is now solid.
Brown really enjoyed everything on his visit, but a few things stood out to him.
“I loved the coaching approaches,” Brown said. “I loved watching the young guys stepping up, and just being able to familiarize myself with the players”
Florida State is recruiting Brown for the Buck linebacker position. Defensive ends/outside linebackers coach Brad Lawing spent some time talking to him about where he fits in at Florida State.
“We talked a lot about where he's trying to fit me into the scheme,” Brown said. “We talked about a lot outside of football too.”
Brown got to spend some time with a few Florida State commitments during his visit, 4-star quarterback Malik Henry, 4-star defensive end Janarius Robinson, and 4-star tight end Isaac Nauta. He also did some recruiting on 5-star defensive end Shavar Manuel.
“We were just talking about our class,” Brown said. “I was telling Shavar to commit.”
Brown does not know when he will be returning to Florida State, but does have a visit to Tennessee planned for their Spring Game April 25th.
