Florida State takes down Stetson 0-0 in their last midweek game of the season. Starter Bryant Holtmann was at the top of his game throwing seven scoreless innings while only giving up 3 hits and 3 walks. He also had two strikeouts.
The Seminole offense got on the board in the third when Ben Deluzio reached on a catcher’s interference and Taylor Walls walked. Danny De La Calle sacrificed them over with a bunt to first and Josh Delph knock a 2-RBI double down the right field line to make it 2-0.
Florida State would add another in the fifth when DeLuzio doubled to left and De La Calle followed it up with his own double to left to make it 3-0. The Seminoles loaded the bases in the sixth with a chance to break the game wide open, but Taylor Walls flew out to left to end the inning.
Dylan Silva came in to pitch the eighth and struck out all three batters in a very quick inning. Billy Strode came in to close the game out and promptly gave up a leadoff homerun over the left field wall. He would allow a single up the middle before getting the next three outs to end the game 3-1.
Florida State improves to 36-14 on the season and will travel to Louisville this weekend to take on No. 2 Louisville. Boomer Biegalski will get the start on Friday.
