FSU's National Seed Hopes Looking Up

Florida State has received some help from teams around the country in the race for a national seed.

Florida State needed some help if they wanted to regain their spot as a national seed, and after the first day of the conference tournaments things seem to be shaping up well for the Seminoles.

Three of D1Baseball’s projected national seeds lost last night. Florida, TCU, and Dallas Baptist all took a loss in the opening game of their respective tournaments and none were locks for a national seed.

TCU played the early game this morning in the Big 12 tournament and was eliminated by Texas Tech. With this loss TCU is more than likely out of national seed contention. Dallas Baptist won their game today 3-0 over Evansville. Florida is currently playing in their elimination game against Auburn. With TCU already gone, Dallas Baptist taking a loss to the No. 96th ranked team in the RPI, and Florida fighting for survival the door has opened for Florida State to step back in.

Of course none of that matters if the Seminoles don’t continue to win. They may not need to win the conference, but at least need to advance to the title game. They started on that path with a win over Clemson yesterday.

Florida State will look to keep that momentum going as they take on North Carolina tonight at 7 PM.
