Sebastian (Fla.) Sebastian River 2017 4-star defensive end Jarez Parks visited Florida State for the Jimbo Fisher Camp on Wednesday. Parks has seen his recruitment pick up lately and he now holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, and South Carolina among others.
Parks had only been to one camp before this and he really enjoyed the experience.
“This is actually my second camp doing in my entire life,” Parks said. “It’s a good experience. I love it here. I love the atmosphere. It was a good experience for me.”
The Florida State coaches are very high on Parks and asked him to come back for another visit.
“They said they wanted me to come back,” Parks said. “They want to show me around campus on a visit and an official visit when the time is right. I’m definitely looking forward to that.”
Parks got to work with Seminole defensive ends coach Brad Lawing during his visit today. He was very impressed with what all coach Lawing had to teach him.
“We were working on my get off,” Parks said. “My hand movements. Trying to improve my game when I’m going in. He helped me a lot. I’m very happy that he wasn’t one of those coaches that yell at you. I like when a coach talks to me then I’ll get it done. Yelling doesn’t do much for me. I’m happy that he talked to me and walked me through it.”
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end said he only has one set visit for the rest of the summer.
“Training. Getting in the weight room,” Parks said. “That’s the only plans I have. And definitely hitting a couple camps. I don’t know which as of now. My coach sets all that up.”
Parks grew up a fan of the Florida Gators, but the Seminoles have really made an impression after this visit.
