Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy 2018 offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer picked up an offer from Florida State on Saturday at the Seminoles Big Man Camp. He already held offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Memphis, Miami, and Tennessee.
Salyer enjoyed quite a few things about his visit to Florida State.
“I loved it,” Salyer said. “I had a great time. I liked the apartments the players had and all the buildings around campus. I really enjoyed coach Trickett.”
Offensive line coach Rick Trickett made a big impact on Salyer.
“I really like how straight forward he was, and how easy he was to talk to,” Salyer said. “He was an honest guy, and I like that from a coach. Also, he was a great coach.”
Before he left, Salyer got to meet with head coach Jimbo Fisher.
“He just told me about the school, and how family oriented the team is,” Salyer said. “He was telling us about the graduation rate of past players.”
Salyer came down with his position coach and some other campers, but plans to come back soon with his parents. He wasn’t ready to name a top group of schools, but did say that Florida State was one of the schools he was looking very hard at.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman plans to visit Stanford this week and Georgia in July.
