Running Back Greg Jones comes in at No. 53 on our list of the All-Time Florida State players. Jones, 6-foot-1, 245-pounds, was a load at running back and his highlights from his devastating runs are still a part of Seminole legend. Jones was nearly impossible for one player to bring down and former All-American’s Dexter Reid and Sean Taylor found that out the hard way.
In 2002 Jones suffered a knee injury that ended his season early, but he had rushed for 938 yards and 8 touchdowns in the 10 games. Jones was never the same after his injury and rushed for just 614 yards and 7 touchdowns his senior year in 2003. He finished his career with 2,535 yards and 23 touchdowns. His 2,535 yards are sixth all-time for Florida State running backs.
Jones was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2004 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He moved to fullback and played for nine seasons in the NFL. He finished his pro career with 913 yards and 13 touchdowns.
