Safety Bobby Butler comes in at No. 38 as we continue our countdown of the Top-75 players in Florida State history. Butler was a four-year contributor and a three-year starter for the Seminoles from 1977-1980. Butler never received the national recognition he deserved, only being named a third team All-American by the Associated Press. He finished his Florida State career with 12 interceptions, 101 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 6 blocked kicks. Butler was inducted into the Florida State Hall of Fame in 1987.
Butler was drafted with the 25th overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He played in the NFL for 12 seasons while starting 126 games. He finished his career with 27 interceptions and 9 fumble recoveries.
He continues to work closely with the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons.
