Florida State returns to practice for the first time this fall. Get all the updates here!

Florida State returned to practice for the first time this fall in shorts. Matthew Thomas and Lorenzo Phillips were not at practice. Dalvin Cook was not at practice as well. Deondre Francois was in a boot and still on crutches. Everyone else was ready to go.

As Jimbo Fisher said in his press conference earlier linebacker Reggie Northrup was back fully participating in drills. Delvin Purifoy, who missed all last season with an ankle injury, was also fully participating.

Everett Golson was participating in his first practice at Florida State and was rotating in with Sean Maguire and J.J. Cosentino.

Mario Pender and Jacques Patrick were rotating in as the first team running back. Jonathan Vickers and Freddie Stevenson were also working in at running back some.

The first team offensive line was as expected with Chad Mavety, Wilson Bell, Alec Eberle, Kareem Are, and Roderick Johnson. Derrick Kelly was rotating in with Mavety as the first team right tackle. Freshman Abdul Bello was working as the second team left tackle.

Freshman defensive end Josh Sweat was participating in individual drills, but still has a slight limp when he moves. Coach Fisher said during his press conference that he wouldn’t be doing team drills just yet.

Freshman George Campbell and Auden Tate stand out among the other receivers. They’re extremely tall, and in Tate’s case very well built.

Jimbo Fisher will not be speaking after practice today.
