Linebacker Aaron Carter comes in at No. 22 as we continue our countdown of the Top-75 players in Florida State history. Carter came to Florida State in a time where the Seminoles were one of the worst teams in the country and that likely played into him not being considered for any national awards.
From 1974-1977 Carter played linebacker, defensive end, and cornerback for Florida State before moving to linebacker full time in his junior year. He is the record holder for tackles in a season with 181 and tackles in a career with 512. He had 135 tackles or more in each of his final three seasons at Florida State. He was elected to the Florida State football Hall of Fame in 2014.
