Earlier during camp we reported that Josh Sweat was standing out, but we didn't have official word on whether or not he will play in the opener against Texas State. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher cleared all that up when he made this statement after practice today.
"Oh yeah he'll play," Fisher said. "He'll be ready to play. He's healthy enough to play. He hasn't missed a practice. He hasn't missed anything. Haven't seen one [setback]. Been very blessed."
That is an incredible recovery for a guy who dislocated his knee cap and tore his ACL less than a year ago. Before he tore it he was the No. 1 player in the country, and if he can return to that it will definitely help the Seminole defense, especially the pass rush.
