Florida State running back Mario Pender suffered a collapsed lung on September 22nd during practice. Pender was admitted to the hospital, and was expected to make it back within a couple weeks. Unfortunately Pender suffered a setback when his lung became infected and surgery was required on September 30th.. Since then Pender has been released from the hospital, but Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher would not give a time table for Pender's return.
Pender has been seen walking around at practice for the last week or so, and today Pender was doing some agility drills and running. Fisher updated his status after practice.
"He looks good," Fisher said. "He's back up to about 197-pounds. He's gained some of that weight back and looks good. There may be a chance that in two or three weeks of getting him back in there. They're saying he's healing back so we will see."
