Florida State Running Back Dalvin Cook Will Not Play Against Syracuse

Florida State football running back Dalvin Cook will not play Saturday against Syracuse.

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook has been ruled out for the Syracuse-Florida State game on Saturday. Cook has been plagued by a hamstring injury on his left leg since the Wake Forest game, but suffered an ankle injury in the loss to Georgia Tech. Cook has run for 1,037 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season, and became the first Flrodia State running back since Warrick Dunn in 1995-1996 to run for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.

With Mario Pender also out, true freshman running back Jacques Patrick has been taking first team reps at running back. Sophomore Johnathan Vickers is also available to start at running back, and has taken the majority of the reps when Cook has not been able to play.
