Florida State Coasts To 117-76 Win Over Southeastern

Florida State dominated Southeastern to end the preseason.

Florida State turned in another dominating performance against Southeastern on Monday night with a 117-76 win. The Seminoles scored over 100 points for the second straight exhibition game. 

Florida State had seven players score in double figures on the night. Malik Beasley led the Noles with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Devin Bookert added 18, Dwayne Bacon 17, Jarquez Smith 14, Boris Bojanovsky 12, Phil Cofer and Terrance Mann both had 10. 

The lone starter not to score in double figures was Xavier Rathan-Mayes, but he was busy making an impact in a different way. Rathan-Mayes led the team with 12 assists to go along with his 7 points and 5 rebounds.

The Seminoles were without Montay Brandon, Robbie Berwick, Michael Ojo, Jean-Christ Koumadje, and Brandon Allen due to injuries. JUCO transfer Benji Bell was held out due to a coaches decision.

The Seminoles shot 65-percent from the field and 38-percent from three. Florida State did an excellent job of taking care of the ball with just 5 turnovers compared to 26 assists. 

Florida State will open up the season with Nicholls State at 3 PM on Sunday, November 15th.
