Florida State Senior Spotlight: Cason Beatty

A final look at the career of senior punter Cason Beatty.

Cason Beatty is a senior punter from Olympic High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Beatty was rated as a 3-star prospect by Scout and the No. 4 kicker in the country. He has been a four year starter at Florida State.

Beatty immediately came in and started for the Seminoles punting 47 times on the season. He averaged 38.3 yards per punt and downed 23 punts inside the 20 yard line. Three of his punts were longer than 50-yards.

He improved as a sophomore punting 42 times for an average 41.1 per punt. He dropped 12 inside the 20 yard line and had 9 punts longer than 50 yards. 

Beatty averaged 41 yards per punt again as a junior in 2014. He placed 15 inside the 20 yard line and had 7 longer than 50 yards including a 67 yard punt against Virginia. 

He improved a good amount between his junior and senior years. Through 10 games this season Beatty is averaging 43.9 yards per punt and has dropped 16 inside the 20 yard line. He has 14 50-plus yard punts so far.

Beatty has been at his best when the Seminoles have needed him the most, and is currently making the case to be on one of the All-ACC teams as a senior.
