Florida State Among The Top College Football Programs In Staff Salaries

Florida State football's staff is one of the most well paid in the entire country.

Gone are the days where Florida State wasn't up with the Joneses. The Seminoles currently employ one of the highest paid coaching staffs in the entire country according to the USA Today Coaching Salary database. Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher is the fifth highest paid head coach in college football, and the Seminole assistant coaches have the seventh highest combined salaries.

Coach Salary
Jimbo Fisher $5,150,000
Rick Trickett $587,900
Randy Sanders $586,000
Charles Kelly $583,000
Lawrence Dawsey $466,000
Odell Haggins $466,000
Tim Brewster $436,000
Brad Lawing $415,000
Jay Graham $406,000
Bill Miller $338,900
Total $9,434,800

When you combine Fisher's salary with his assistants, Florida State has the sixth highest paid coaching staff in the country behind just Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU and Auburn. In state rival Florida (7,398,000) pays their coaching staff over $2 million less than Florida State. It's not surprising that the Seminoles are paying that much for their coaching staff when you consider the program has lost just five games in the last four years. Results get rewarded in college football.
