Miami (Fla.) Miami Central safety Jamel Cook is one of the top players in the country, and has many schools still vying for his services. Cook committed to Florida State in February, and has remained committed to the Seminoles.
Cook helped Miami Central win their fourth straight state championship on Saturday. After the game he stated that he was still firm in his commitment to Florida State. He does plan on taking some visits before signing day.
"I'll probably go to UM, Bama, and South Carolina," Cook said. "That's all I have in my head right now."
In addition to those three schools, Cook also plans to visit Florida State.
"Yeah," Cook said. "Probably before or after they play Houston."
A couple of Florida State players came down to see Miami Central practice last week.
"[Derwin James] and Calvin [Brewton} were at our practice Friday," Cook said. "Former players. So I talked to them. He thinks it's a good fit for me and I think it's a good fit for me."
Cook is the No. 5 safety and No. 88 recruit in the Scout 300.
