Florida State Overcomes Slow Start To Beat Southeastern Louisiana 75-58

Florida State started off slowly, but dominated the second half for a 17 point win.

Florida State started off ice cold, but overcame the slow start to defeat Southeastern Louisiana 75-58. The Seminoles trailed for 6:53 in the first half, but led by 7 at the half. 

The Seminoles struggled to shoot for most of the game, but improved in the second half. They finished shooting 41.8-percent from the field.

The Seminoles were led by two first year players. JUCO transfer Benji Bell doubled his season high point total with 18 points to go along with 4 rebounds. Malik Beasley finished the game with 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes had just 7 points on the game, but totaled 11 assists to just 2 turnovers. It was his second game this season with double-digit assists. 

Florida State had 17 assists to just 8 turnovers for the game. They outrebounded the Lions 39-31.

Senior guard Devon Bookert did not play with a sprained wrist.

Florida State improved to 6-2 on the season, and will play Mississippi State at home on Wednesday, December 16th at 9 PM.
