Florida State Defensive Back Derwin James Names Sporting News Freshman All-American

Florida State defensive back Derwin James named to another freshman All-American team.

Florida State defensive back Derwin James was named a Sporting News Freshman All-American. James started 7 games this season, and finished second in tackles (77), tackles for loss (7.5), sacks (3.5) and forced fumbles (2). 

He was also named to the USA Today Freshman All-American team. James is the first Florida State player to be named a Sporting News All-American since Jameis Winston in 2013. He is the first Florida State freshman defensive back to be named a Sporting News All-American since Tony Carter was named to the third team in 2005.
