FSU Recruiting What To Watch: January 15

The dead period ends Wednesday night, and recruiting is ready to pick back up. Here's what to watch this weekend.

Florida State is bringing in a four official visitors this weekend. The most important non-commitment that's visiting is 4-star DB Carlos Becker. Becker had a great senior season, and was one of the top performers during the Under Armour week. Florida State has been on him for a while now, and will look to gain a serious edge in his recruitment. Ohio State is also in the running.

Another non-commitment that FSU is bringing in is 4-star offensive guard Stewart Reese. Reese was one of the Seminoles top targets on the offensive line following a stand out performance at the Jimbo Fisher Camp in July of 2014. Reese didn't camp this year, and only visited the Seminoles once during that time. Now he's coming in on an official. Florida State would take his commitment at this time.

A number of Florida State targets are visiting elsewhere this weekend. 4-star linebacker Dontavious Jackson is officially visiting Florida this weekend. The Seminoles currently feel good about their chances with Jackson, and the depth chart sets up pretty well for him to make an immediate impact in Tallahassee.

4-star wide receiver Keith Gavin will take his first official visit to Alabama this weekend. Gavin's recruitment has been Alabama vs. Florida State for the last few months, and that will continue over the next two weeks. Florida State will bring him in next weekend for his final official visit. He could make a decision shortly after that.

4-star defensive end Brian Burns will be taking an official visit to Georgia this weekend. Georgia was long thought to be the leader for Burns, but have faded lately. This will be their last chance to sway the talented defensive end, but it looks like his recruitment will come down to Florida State vs. Florida.

5-star WR Nate Craig-Myers and 4-star DB Jayvaughn Myers are visiting Auburn this weekend. Craig-Myers is at the top of the wide receiver board for the Seminoles, and Myers is intriguing from a physical standpoint. Florida State is trying to bring both in for officials, but that has not been scheduled at this time.

4-star FSU commitment Amir Rasul is taking an official to Alabama this weekend. The Tide are fresh off another national championship, and Rasul has stated that he's not fully committed to the Seminoles.

4-star OL Landon Dickerson is taking an official to Florida this weekend. Florida State is in good position for Dickerson right now with Tennessee being their main competition.

4-star OL Jauan Williams is taking an unofficial to Texas A&M this weekend. The Aggies recently offered Williams, and he canceled his official to Florida to make the trip.

4-star DE Terrell Hall is officially visiting Maryland this weekend. Florida State has thrown everything they can at Hall so far in his recruitment, but Alabama and Maryland are both right there.

4-star CB Trayvon Mullen is officially visiting Clemson. It has long been a FSU-LSU battle for Mullen, but the Tigers have done a good job of staying in it. They will need to make a big impact this weekend if they want to really get in the race.
