FSU Breaks Through With 85-78 Win Over NC State

Florida State broke through with their first ACC win over NC State.

Florida State finally got on the board in ACC play with a 85-78 win over NC State. The Seminoles had started 0-3 in the ACC. 

Once again the guards led the Seminoles. Malik Beasley led the Seminoles with 20 points, and Devin Bookert finished with 18. Beasley has now scored in double digits in all 16 games this season, and added 9 rebounds to his total. Dwayne Bacon came in right behind them at 15. Xavier Rathan-Mayes also finished in double digits with 11 and 7 assists.

Freshman forward Terrance Mann led the Seminoles along with Beasley with 9 rebounds in the game to go along with 7 points. NC State outrebounded Florida State 41-40. 

The Seminoles shot 50 percent for the game while the Wolfpack shot just 36.5. NC State made up for the difference by taking nearly double the free throws that Florida State took 32-20. 

Florida State improves to 11-5 on the season and 1-3 in the ACC. The Seminoles will return home to take on No. 13 Virginia on January 17 at 6:30 PM. The game will be broadcast on ESPN U.
