New Orleans (LA) Mcdonogh 35 Senior 3-star safety Clifford Chattman has committed to Florida State. Chattman officially visited the Seminoles this weekend and pulled the trigger. He was considering Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
When asked why he committed to Florida State, his answer was a simple one.
"It felt like home," Chattman said.
Florida State's legacy of producing top defensive backs set them apart from the other schools he was considering.
"Knowing the history of the big, athletic safeties that they have had in the past," Chattman said.
Florida State is recruiting him to play safety, and head coach Jimbo Fisher is a big fan of what Chattman brings to the table.
"That he really love the way I bring the hat with my size and my ability to bend," Chattman said.
Chattman will not take any more visits, and is done with his recruitment.
"No. I'm 100% committed to FSU," Chattman said.
He is not done with recruiting though. Florida State brought in 4-star defensive tackle Stephon Taylor on an official visit this weekend as well. Chattman and Taylor are teammates, and he plans to do everything he can to bring in Taylor as well.
Chattman is the No. 43 safety in the country according to Scout.
