Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is headed to the Pro Bowl. He will replace Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Winston is the first rookie quarterback in Buccaneers history to be named to the Pro Bowl, and adds an exclamation point to an already stellar season. He is only the fifth Buccaneers quarterback to be named to the Pro Bowl and the first since Jeff Garcia in 2007.
Winston was selected No. 1 overall by the Buccaneers in last years draft, and became just the third rookie quarterback to throw for more that 4,000 yards. He finished the season completing 312 of 535 passes for 22 passing touchdowns, 15 interceptions, and tied for the team lead in rushing touchdowns with 6. His 28 combined touchdowns were the most by a rookie in Buccaneers history, and the third highest by a rookie overall.
He is the first Florida State quarterback to be selected for the Pro Bowl since Brad Johnson in 2002, also with the Buccaneers.
