Revisiting Signing Days Under FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher

We take a look back at the recruits that Florida State has landed on National Signing Day under Jimbo Fisher.

2010

5-star WR Christian Green

4-star LB Christian Jones

4-star DE Bjorn Werner

3-star LB Telvin Smith

Hitting on three out of four here really isn't bad for a head coach with a month on the job. Jones, Werner, and Smith all had excellent careers at Florida State, and are currently playing in the NFL. Smith has been the most successful of the three. He was the leader of the 2013 National Championship defense, and is now a starting linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Werner was a sack machine at Florida State, but was drafted into a system that doesn't fit him by the Indianapolis Colts. Jones didn't make the impact he was expected to at Florida State, but he was a key piece on the 2013 defense. He's now a starter for the Chickaco Bears. Green was never able to make the jump from quarterback to receiver, and in the end only caught one touchdown during his career.

2011

5-star DT Timmy Jernigan

3-star OG Tre Jackson

Florida State hit on both Jernigan and Jackson. Both were multi-year starters at Florida State, and both were key pieces to Florida State's National Championship run. Both players are currently starting in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots.

2012

5-star CB Ronald Darby

5-star DT Eddie Goldman

4-star CB Colin Blake

4-star LB Reggie Northrup

So far this has been Jimbo Fisher's best signing day. Darby, Goldman, and Northrup were all multi-year starters at Florida State, and Darby and Goldman were two of the best defensive rookies in the NFL this season. Blake never made an impact at Florida State due to numerous shoulder injuries.

2013

5-star LB Matthew Thomas

4-star DT Keith Bryant

3-star OL Wilson Bell

This group has been a disappointment so far, but will have an opportunity to set it straight this season. Matthew Thomas has spent more time suspended at Florida State than not, but will have one more chance to make an impact. Keith Bryant hasn't been able to find the field behind a talented group of defensive tackles. Wilson Bell started last season at right guard, but he led the offensive line in penalties, and his status as a starter is up in the air for 2016.

2014

5-star WR Ermon Lane

4-star DT Derrick Nnadi

4-star WR Ja'Vonn Harrison

Nnadi has had a big impact through his first two seasons at Florida State, and will be the starting nose tackle once again next season. Lane has struggled with consistency catching the football, but has been the best blocking wide receiver on the team. Harrison has struggled to find the field so far.

2015

4-star DB Marcus Lewis

Lewis has drawn good reviews from behind the scenes at Florida State, even though he was not able to get on the field much. He will have a chance to compete for a few starting spots this year, and will certainly be in the rotation.

2016

Florida State is in it for a number of highly touted prospects heading into Signing Day. It will be very interesting to see who the Seminoles close with.
