Former FSU QB Jameis Winston Named NFL Rookie Of The Year

Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has been named the NFL Rookie of the Year.

Former Florida State and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. The award was voted on by the fans. Winston threw for 4,042 yards and 22 touchdowns as a rookie while also rushing for a team high 6 touchdowns. 

He was voted as the award winner over Amari Cooper, Todd Gurley, Marcus Peters, and Tyler Lockett.

He is the first Seminole to be named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year, and the third Seminole to win any of the Rookie of the year awards. Warrick Dunn in 1997 and Anquan Boldin in 2003 were named the AP Offensive Rookies of the Year.
