With a dominating performance from start to finish Florida State dismantled No. 23 Notre Dame 77-56. The Seminoles ended a five game losing streak with the win.
Freshman Dwayne Bacon led the Seminoles with 21 points. Benji Bell was the only other Seminole in double figures with 14. Malik Beasley struggled once again with just 4 points.
Boris Bojanovsky finished the game with 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocks. The Seminoles had 7 blocks for the game.
Florida State outrebounded Notre Dame 40-35 and outshot the Irish 46.8 percent to 35.7 percent from the field. Florida State turned 11 Notre Dame turnovers into 17 points. Florida State pulled down 12 offensive rebounds, an area where the Seminoles have struggled all season, and turned it in to 16 second chance points.
Florida State committed just 7 turnovers for the game. A lot of that had to do with the play of Bell, who played 25 minutes. Xavier Rathan-Mayes, the starting point guard, only played 16 minutes.
Florida State improved to 17-12 and 7-10 in the ACC. Florida State will finish the regular season at home against Syracuse on March 5th at 2 PM. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
