Georgia LB High On FSU

Jae Thaxton is one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Georgia this year. He battled injuries as a junior, but looks to be healthy this season, and that's bad news for Hart County opponents. Thaxton has held at two leaders for a good portion of the summer. Has anything changed?

No, Florida State and Georgia are still my two leaders," said Thaxton. "My Top 5 teams are probably Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, and LSU. All five of those have offered. I have about 15 offers overall. I only got to go to one camp this summer, and that was at Florida State. I had a great time three and learned a lot from the coaches. I got to tour the facilities and meet with Coach Bowden."

With two leaders and offers from both, does Thaxton plan on making an early decision?

"Right now, I plan on taking all of my visits. I'll take one or two during the season, then take the other three during basketball season."

On his favorites:

Georgia - "I like the campus and the coaching staff. I also like the fact that it's close to home."

Florida State - "I can't really put my thumb on it; I just like it there. I also have about 12 family members in Bainbridge, which is only about 45 minutes from Tallahassee."

"I'll choose whichever school fits me the best."
