Florida State defeated Toledo 3-2 in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night. Jim Voyles picked up the win.
The Florida State offense produced a lot of hits, but not a lot of runs with just 3 runs on 10 hits.
Florida State got on the board in the first with an RBI single from Ben DeLuzio. They would add a second run on a Gage West RBI groundout.
The Florida State pitching staff did their jobs very well however. Cole Sands, Cobi Johnson, and Jim Voyles allowed a combined no hits with the only runs coming on an error by short stop Taylor Walls in the fourth.
Florida State got Darren Miller on in the ninth with a walk, and then moved him over to second with a sacrifice bunt. A wild pitch moved Miller to third. Second baseman Matt Henderson laid down a suicide squeeze bunt with two strikes to bring in Miller and secure the victory for the Seminoles.
Florida State improved to 10-3 on the season. They will host Georgia Tech in a three game series starting at 6 PM on Friday.
