FSU Defeats Toledo 3-2 In Dramatic Fashion

Florida State walked it off against Toledo to win 3-2.

Florida State defeated Toledo 3-2 in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night. Jim Voyles picked up the win.

The Florida State offense produced a lot of hits, but not a lot of runs with just 3 runs on 10 hits.

Florida State got on the board in the first with an RBI single from Ben DeLuzio. They would add a second run on a Gage West RBI groundout.

The Florida State pitching staff did their jobs very well however. Cole Sands, Cobi Johnson, and Jim Voyles allowed a combined no hits with the only runs coming on an error by short stop Taylor Walls in the fourth.

Florida State got Darren Miller on in the ninth with a walk, and then moved him over to second with a sacrifice bunt. A wild pitch moved Miller to third. Second baseman Matt Henderson laid down a suicide squeeze bunt with two strikes to bring in Miller and secure the victory for the Seminoles.

Florida State improved to 10-3 on the season. They will host Georgia Tech in a three game series starting at 6 PM on Friday.
