1. Who replaces Jalen Ramsey at cornerback?
Tarvarus McFadden and Marcus Lewis have been battling it out since they set foot on campus, and that will continue this spring as both are in the running to replace Ramsey at boundary cornerback. Both players have excellent size and athleticism, and Florida State will be comfortable with either.
2. Who replaces Lamarcus Brutus at free safety?
Brutus was the unquestioned quarterback of the defense last season. While he wasn't the most athletic player out there he was very intelligent, and understood the game. AJ Westbrook is more athletic than Brutus was, but is in that same mold as far as intelligence. The coaching staff has raved about his ability, and he has the upper hand heading into the spring.
3. What about Ryan Green and Malique Jackson?
Green has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and already faced a deficit after starting his career at running back and switching over to defense. He is a very good athlete, and could provide good depth with more time learning the position. Jackson has struggled to find the field at all over his first two years, and with talented younger players passing him, this could be his last chance to show that he belongs.
