FSU's Season Ends With 81-69 Loss To Valparaiso

Florida State's season has ended with a second round loss to Valparaiso in the NIT.

No. 4 seed Florida State fell to No. 1 seed Valparaiso 81-69 in the second round of the NIT. Leonard Hamilton is now 1-5 in second round NIT games at Florida State.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes led the Seminoles with 19 points. Malik Beasley had 14 points and 5 rebounds. Dwayne Bacon added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Terance Mann finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Seniors Montay Brandon, Devin Bookert, and Boris Bojanovsky combined for just 4 points on 2-11 shooting in their final game.

Florida State shot just 39.7 percent from the field and 20 percent from the three point line. Valparaiso shot 47.3 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from the three point line. 

The Seminoles have struggled to rebound all season, and that was the case again Thursday night. Valparaiso out rebounded Florida State 36-32.

Florida State never led throughout the game, and was only tied for the first 22 seconds of the game. 

The Seminoles finish the season 20-14, and 8-10 in the ACC. Florida State will now await the decisions of Malik Beasley, Dwayne Bacon, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes.
