Florida State dominates No. 4 Louisville and takes the series.

No. 9 Florida State dominates No. 4 Louisville 16-5, and win the series 2-1. Florida State has now taken control of the ACC Atlantic race.

Neither team got much going in the first two innings, but Florida State exploded in the third. Louisville starter Kyle Funkhouser lost control, and gave up the first run of the game on a wild pitch. He then loaded the bases for Dylan Busby, who crushed a grand slam off the scoreboard in left to give the Seminoles a 5-0 lead.

Florida State didn't let up in the fourth, and added three more runs to make it 8-0. Jackson Lueck scored on a failed pick off attempt. Funkhouser loaded the bases again, and walked Sansone to bring another run in. That was all for Funkouser, but the next pitcher walked Busby to bring in another run.

Starter Cole Sands was pulled one batter into the fifth inning for Jim Voyles, and the Cardinal were able to pull the game back to 8-2 with an RBI double from Ray, and a single from Fitch.

The Seminoles went right back to work in the bottom half of the inning loading the bases once again. An infield RBI single from Taylor Walls started the scoring. John Sansone came through with a 2-RBI single, and Cal Raleigh came through with an 2-RBI double. Darren Miller finished off the scoring in the inning with an RBI double to make it 14-2.

Louisville added a run in the sixth on an RBI double from McKay, but Florida State got it right back with an RBI double from Taylor Walls to make it 15-3.

Matthew Kinney came in for Voyles in the seventh, and the Cardinal added two more runs on a single from Mann, and a McKay double play. Florida State loaded the bases in the bottom half of the inning, and a walk to Truluck brought in the final run of the game to make it 16-5.

Chase Haney came in to get the final out of the seventh inning, and pitched a scoreless eighth. Andrew Karp pitched a scoreless ninth. Jim Voyles was awarded the win.

Florida State improves to 22-8 overall and 9-2 in the ACC. They will next play No. 1 Florida at home on Tuesday, April 12th at 6 PM.
