FSU Baseball Loses Two Contributors

Florida State baseball announced that they will be without two contributors going forward.

Florida State announced that left fielder Gage West has been suspended from the team indefinitely, and that right fielder Darren Miller has left the team to focus on his academics. Both players have played in the majority of the Seminoles games this season, but performances by Jackson Lueck in left and Donovan Petrey in right have seen their playing time diminish lately.

West was hitting .293 with an on-base percentage of .404. He had rotated between the designated hitter role and left field this season. Miller started the season in right field, but struggled at the plate. He was hitting .229 with an on-base percentage of .375.

This does cause an issue with outfield depth as there are only four non-starter outfielders listed on the roster including weekday starting pitcher Tyler Holton. Hank Truluck has also spent time in the outfield, but is listed as an infielder.

The Seminoles are currently 24-11 on the season, and in the Top-10 of every major poll.
