Florida State brought in another Top-3 class in 2016, and had eight of the signees on campus for the spring semester. A number of those early enrollees are expected to make an impact in 2016, but who are the June enrollees that are going to make an impact?
1. 5-star CB Levonta Taylor
Taylor will get on the field in a hurry this fall on special teams if not on defense. Taylor was an elite punt returner in high school, and would bring a dynamic to that position that the Seminoles have not had since Greg Reid left. Taylor will also get a chance to immediately compete for a job at the star position.
2. 3-star P Logan Tyler
With Cason Beatty's departure, Tyler will come in and start immediately. Tyler averaged 44 yards per punt over the last two years of his high school career. He also had 97 touchbacks on 132 kickoffs during that span. He was rated as the No. 2 kicker in the country by Kohl's Kicking in 2015.
3. 4-star DL Shavar Manuel
Manuel can play either inside or outside at Florida State, but he will likely start his career outside backing up DeMarcus Walker. Manuel played both positions in high school, and has the ability to play both very well. With Rick Leonard moving to the offensive line this spring, the spot behind Walker is wide open.
4. 4-star LB Dontavious Jackson
Florida State's linebacking corps got a huge boost this spring with the return of Matthew Thomas and the emergence of early enrollee Josh Brown. Even with that there is still a lack of depth at the position. Jackson should be able to come in and immediately fix that problem. He will be a contributor on special teams immediately.
5. 5-star DE Brian Burns
Burns will need to add some weight to his frame, but could help the Seminoles on passing downs. He is a very good pass rusher on the defensive line, and that is an area that Florida State could use some help. Outside of DeMarcus Walker's 10.5 sacks no other Florida State defensive lineman had more than 2.5 in 2015. Burns had 27.5 sacks over the last two years of his high school career.
