Florida State walked off against rival Miami for a 5-4 victory. Tyler Warmoth picked up the win.
Miami got on the board first on a Randy Batista RBI double in the second inning that brought Willie Abreu in from second. They extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth on an RBI single from Jacob Heyward.
That lead would be erased in the bottom half of the inning on one swing of the bat. Dylan Busby, who crushed his team leading tenth home run of the season, tied the game at two with a blast to left center field.
Florida State took the lead in the seventh on a Quincy Neiporte 2-RBI single to right center. The Hurricanes intentionally walked Cal Raleigh to get to Neiporte and the junior made him pay, and gave the Seminoles a 4-2 lead.
Starter Tyler Holton had a phenomenal outing going 7 innings and allowing 2 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. He was relieved by Matthew Kinney with one on in the eighth inning.
Florida State turned it over to Tyler Warmoth in the ninth inning, but after getting the first out of the inning a HBP and two walks saw the closer's night end. Chase Haney gave us a 2-RBI single to Edgar Michelangeli that tied the game at 4. Haney struck out the batter, and was relieved by Alec Byrd. Byrd got the final out of the inning.
The Seminoles battled back in the bottom half of the inning and loaded the bases. Dylan Busby came through with an RBI single to end the game and give the Seminoles a 5-4 victory. It was his third RBI of the game.
Florida State improves to 37-19 on the season. The Seminoles will play Clemson at 10 AM on May 29 for the ACC Championship.
