FSU Stays Alive In The WCWS With 8-4 Win Over UCLA

Florida State lives to fight another day with a win over UCLA in an elimination game.

Florida State staved off elimination with an 8-4 come from behind victory against UCLA. UCLA is eliminated from the Women's College World Series.

The Seminoles fell behind 4-0 in the first inning on a grand slam by Mysha Sataraka. Starter Meghan King was pulled after just two outs for Jessica Burroughs. Burroughs breezed through the next six innings for the Seminoles.

Alex Powers got the Seminoles on the board with a solo home run in the second, and then Morgan Klaevemann walked with the bases to make it 4-2 Bruins. The Seminoles took a 5-4 lead in the top of the third after a Jessica Warren home run, and a 2-RBI fielders choice by Cali Herrod. 

The Seminoles extended their lead to 7-4 in the fifth on a Klaevemann 2-RBI single. They tacked on one more run in the top of the second as Klaevemann picked up her fourth RBI of the game on a bunt single. 

The Seminoles will advance to play the loser of Oklahoma and Michigan on Sunday at 12 PM.
