Florida State came into the Opening with the No. 10 ranked recruiting class and ten commitments. 4-star running back Khalan Laborn changed that with his commitment on Friday. Laborn, the No. 48 overall prospect in the 2017 Scout 300, moved the Seminoles up three spots to the No. 7 team in the recruiting rankings.
Florida State jumped Clemson, and is now the top recruiting class in the ACC. Florida State's 11 commitments are the lowest number of any team in the Top-9, but they have the second highest star rating behind Ohio State with 3.91.
Nine of the eleven Florida State commitments are inside the Scout 300 rankings. Laborn joins 5-star cornerback Stanford Samuels III in the Top-100 of the rankings.
Florida State's current class has five offensive commitments, and six defensive commitments. There is one 5-star, 8 4-stars, and 2 3-stars currently in the class.
Florida State is once again out recruiting instate rivals Florida and Miami. Miami currently sits at 13th in the rankings with 15 commits, but 9 3-stars. Florida sits at 20th with 10 commits and 4 3-stars.
