Is Georgia DE Committed?

Darrell Robertson, a three-star defensive end prospect from Jonesboro (GA), recently gave the Florida State Seminoles a verbal commitment. However, 6-foot-5 and 215 pound standout will do a little looking around before he signs with the Noles in February.

On Saturday afternoon TheTerritory caught up with Robertson and got some mixed signals about his commitment. After discussing it for a bit with him, it sounds like Robertson is a soft commitment to the Noles. This means that he has told Florida State he's coming but he's looking around a bit just to make sure.

"I haven't committed to Florida State yet but I'm leaning that direction" Robertson said. "I did give Coach Allen a verbal but I'm going to take a visit to Virginia and Stanford. I'm also going to visit Florida State unofficially on October 11th."

The Jonesboro high school senior will most likely take his official visits in December.

What does he like about the Noles?

"I've always liked Florida State," he said. "I had a good time at the camp. The campus and the facilities are very nice. I really like Coach Allen Also."

Robertson, who will have no problem qualifying academically, wants to major in engineering. He has an impressive 3.95 grade point average to go along with a SAT score of 1130.

Through four games, Robertson has five sacks and several tackles.

"I'm a hard rushing defensive end that can stop the run also," he said.

Robertson hasn't been officially offered in writing yet. It's the writer's opinion that the Noles still hold the upper hand. However, when recruits take other visits, anything can happen.
