Weather Forecast

Will we need our ponchos for the big game on Saturday? As much as I hate to say it, I'm taking mine. However, the news is not ALL bad. A big batch of rain and a few thunderstorms is expected to move over the Capital City Friday night into Saturday morning. The rain could be heavy at times, especially late Friday night, with an inch or more falling in a few areas.

Will we need our ponchos for the big game on (If you're going to the unveiling ceremony for the "Unconquered" statue Friday evening, I'd definitely take a poncho and/or umbrella.)

The good news is that it still looks like the rain should start tapering off after sunrise on Saturday. I broke the Saturday rain chances down like this: 60% in the early morning, but decreasing to 40% by kickoff, falling even more to just 20% by the end of the game.

Temperature-wise, it will be fairly warm (and of course, quite humid), with a kickoff temperature near 78, rising to about 82 by the end of the game. Wind will not be a factor, with speeds staying under 10 mph. The rain chances are certainly high enough to warrant the packing of ponchos, but hopefully you'll only need them if you venture away from the Prime Spot BEFORE the game!

I'll be updating the forecast on the Football Board from time to time, especially if I see any changes in my numbers. I (along with Rob Nucatola) also keep the forecast updated on the WCTV website at www.wctv6.com/weather .

Oh, and the IMPORTANT forecast says Noles 31, Canes 14. Go Noles!!
