Recruiting Update: Jae Thaxton

Jae Thaxton, a 6-foot-2 and 220 middle linebacker from Hartwell (GA) Hart Country, has the attention of several top programs in the Southeast, including Florida State.

This past weekend, the former Seattle (WA) native was one of several recruits making an unofficial visit to Tallahassee to check out the Noles.

Was he rooting for the Noles?

"I was kind of neutral," he said. "However, I was kind of hoping Florida State would have pulled it out. It would've been interesting atmosphere wise."

Before the game, Thaxton got the opportunity to talk with several of the Florida State coaches.

"I talked with Coach Bowden, Jody Allen and Steele," he said. "I liked all of them I met with Coach Bowden in his office."

This past weekend was Thaxton's first unofficial visit to Florida State. He also visited over the summer for the FSU football camp.

Thaxton is open to all teams on his list including, Florida State, Auburn, Notre Dame, Georgia and Tennessee.

Through five games on the season, he has recorded 86 tackles; two sacks and one fumble recovery.
