<b>Derrick Jones</b>, a wide receiver from Long Beach (CA) Poly, is considered of the top players at his position on the West Coast. Last summer the Noles where one many teams that have offered him a scholarship. Where does the four-star standout stand?


"Right now I'm considering Southern Cal, Oregon, Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas," the 5-foot-11 and 160 pound standout with 4.3 40 speed said. "Everyone is equal now and I need to take some trips to see what I like. I'm going to take a close look at depth charts."

Jones has already visited Arizona State and he has one official set up for Oregon on January 9th. He will also trip to Florida State.

Even though Jones said ever team on his list is equal, he indicated to The Territory that he wouldn't mind staying close to home and that he had several former teammates on the USC squad.

The Insiders.com No 8 ranked wide receiver in the country is having an excellent senior season. Through eight games, he has caught 21 passes for 623 yards and nine touchdowns. Jones has three scores on special-team returns, including a 98-yard kickoff return.

Jones is on track to academically qualify with a 2.6 grade point average and a 950 SAT score.

"I want to major in criminal justice," he said.
