Massive OL Visits Noles

For some time Florida State has been hot after offensive tackle prospect Geoff Berniard of Lafayette (LA) St. Thomas More. The Seminole coaching staff finally got the massive 6-foot-8 and 310 pound lineman in town for an unofficial visit. Where do the Noles stand for the three-star prospect?

"I would have to say Florida State is my leader by a little bit now," Berniard said. "I had an awesome time and I would rate my visit a nine on a scale of one to ten. I haven't visited the other schools that I'm considering yet. I'm also going to visit Tennessee and South Carolina before making a decision."

Berniard had a great unofficial visit from the beginning to the end. Not only did he take in a great game but he got the opportunity to meet with several coaches and recruits.

"I liked everything about my trip," he said. I met with coach Bowden most of the morning and I also talked with most of the assistants. I felt like I could fit in at Florida State. I talked with Brett Gallimore, Courtney Abbott, and Drew Weatherford. Drew came up to me and told me that he heard I was going to block for him and that he heard good things about me. Drew and I talked about coming in for our official visits at the same time. We are going to both try to come in January 12-14."

Berniard, who prides himself on being a hard nosed player, should have no problem qualifying academically. Currently, he has a 3.0 grade point average and a score of 19 on the ACT.
