Michigan Commitment Looking South?

Jamar Adams, a safety prospect from Mathews (NC) Butler, has seen his stock on the rise. The 6-foot-3 and 190 pound standout with 4.5 speed committed to Michigan back in September. However, he's going to take a few more visits before he makes his final decision. One stop for him in January will be to Tallahassee.

"I'm going to visit Florida State (1/23), UCLA (12/12) and North Carolina (1/9), "Adams said. "Florida State was my favorite team growing up. I really like talking to Coach Andrews. In fact, I talked with him last night (Wednesday) I also like what Bobby Bowden stands for."

Adams was considering Florida State early on in the process but the Noles faded for a bit. A recent offer by Florida State has sparked his interest again.

"Coach Andrew said an offer was in the mail," he said.

One thing working in the Seminoles favor is the friendship between him and Florida State running back commitment Jamaal Edwards.

"I met him running AAU track," Adams, who made 77 tackles and eight interceptions as a senior, said. "He talks to me a lot about Florida State."

Adams, who would like to major in English, should have no trouble academically qualifying. He has 2.9 core grade point average to go along with a 940 SAT test score.

As a sophomore and junior, Adams had the opportunity to play against Florida Gator starting freshman quarterback Chris Leak.

"I intercepted five of his passes in two year," Adams said. "I stepped up my play in big games."
