Carr Talks About His Decision

Last night Citra (Fla.) North Marion wide receiver Greg Carr committed to Florida State at his high school football banquet. Tonight, The Territory caught up with the athletic 6-foot-5 and 185 pound standout to talk about his decision.

"I was kind of planning to announce last night," Carr said. "I felt like I needed to do it in front my friends and family. Talking with Coach (Jeff) Bowden about it made it a lot easier. Coach Jeff Bowden and Bobby Bowden are great guys."

Carr, one of the top basketball players in his area, wants to try his hand on the court in Tallahassee as well.

"I'm looking forward to playing basketball for Florida State also," he said. "I talked with Coach Hamilton and he's a great guy. Florida State is going to allow me to play both sports."

The North Marion senior is very close to qualifying. With a slight improvement on both is grade point average and test score, should put him over the top.

"I'm going to take the ACT next Saturday," Carr said. "My coaches' wife is tutoring me."

In January Carr plans to take his official trip to Tallahassee and he has no plans to visit any other schools.

He was also offered by Pittsburgh, Miami, Boston College, Wake Forest, Alabama and Georgia.
