Andrews Visits North Carolina DB

Last night assistant coaches from both Michigan and Florida State stopped by Mathews (NC) Butler's Jamar Adams home for a short visit. The Territory.org caught up with the three-star safety prospect to discuss how it went.

"Coach Campbell form Michigan was in first", Adams said. "It went really well. He got to meet my mom. We fixed him some pie. Coach Carr will be coming soon also. Coach Andrews from Florida State came in next. He was fine without pie. We basically talked for a while about playing time and the living situation down there. My head coach got to meet him for the first time."

The 6-foot-3 and 190 pound safety was quite impressed with Coach Andrews but the Seminole defensive coordinator forgot one thing.

"I thought he was going to bring my written offer but he didn't," Adams said. "When we go down for our visit, I'll have to ask him again."

What else did Andrews and Adams discuss?

"He told me that I might be able to come in and play some as a freshman," he said. "I would come in at third-string with a chance of nickel or special team's time. He told me it would be good to come in and get my feet wet by learning from some of the seniors."

Adams, who is still publicly committed to Michigan, will visit officially North Carolina (1/9), UCLA (1/16), Florida State (1/23) and Virginia Tech (1/30).

Adams is on track to academically qualify with a 2.9 grade point average and a 940 SAT test score.
