Immokalee ATH Has His Visits Set

Immokalee (Fla.) standout wide receiver McIntosh Nicolas had a strong senior season on both sides of the football. A first team All-District pick, Nicolas feels things could have been better.

"I was doing my thing but it wasn't enough," he said. "Chaminade beat us and we didn't make it to states like we wanted to."

Nicolas, 6-2 and 190 pounds, is now gearing up to defend his two state track titles that he earned as a junior. His 10.83 100m and 22.10 200m times edged out Pahokee junior running back Antoine Smith for the title last spring.

In the meantime, Nicolas has been busy keeping up with the recruiting process.

"I've already been on recruiting trips to LSU and Michigan State," he said. "They were both nice. They were different in ways but also the same. I am supposed to go to Pittsburgh this Friday. Then I got Florida State on January 16th and Florida on the 9th. I'm also looking at Miami."

Speaking of the Hurricanes, Nicolas said he recently received an in-home visit.

"The Miami coach came by my house last week," he said. "He was just telling me about the school, how they like me, and how they want to get me in for a visit. I just gotta figure out when I can go and everything."

Nicolas also got in-home visits from N.C. State and Florida last week. Florida State is interested in stopping by later this week.

"Probably Florida's on top right now," he said. "I'd say I like them the most but I ain't close to committing or anything. I just gotta see what happens."

On an interesting side note, Nicolas has a girlfriend that is also likely headed to Gainesville so that might be playing a part in his decision as well.

"I just wanna go and play," he said. "The competition, that doesn't matter. I feel like I can play with anybody in the country. I just gotta be comfortable."
